I hope you remember the markers. Steve Martin, Love For His People Ministry

May 8, 2023 Charlotte, North Carolina Greetings to my family and friends of Love For His People Ministry. While on our recent Ahava Adventures journey to Israel in April 2023, the Lord gave me a word to share with the group of nine, encouraging us to remember the “markers” He would give us along the way. I share that message with you in my “Remember the Markers” word below. The first photo above is of David Peterman speaking a prophetic word in tongues, while we were at the Jerusalem House of Prayer on Mount Scopus (Tom Hess ministry). The Lord then gave me the interpretation of it for the group (second photo above). I also mention what that was in the message that follows. Enjoy graduations, weddings, and much more during this season. More “markers” along the way! Ahava and shalom, ![]() Steve Martin Founder, Love For His People Ministry P.S. I am thankful for the provision the Lord has given to continue sending out these emails to you, along with posting them on our website Love For His People Ministry. I trust they will bless you with encouragement as you read and share them. Thank you! |

Remember the Markers by Steve Martin “The Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your descendants I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord who had appeared to him.” Genesis 12:7-8, NASU When the Lord had done something significant in the lives of the people of God, often they built an altar in remembrance, to declare to themselves and to others that at this time, at this place, the Living God had done a work for them to recall and honor Him in days to come. On our Ahava Adventures journey of Love For His People Ministry to Israel in April of 2023, the Lord gave me this word to share with the nine travelers. “The Lord will give us “markers” (altars) along the way, so we can remember, so we can recall, what He did for each of us in this Land of Israel. In days to come, we will look back on this time and say, “I remember the Lord did that there” for it will have been a significant time, event, or purpose done for His will in our life. Each of us has been given “markers” in our life, in our journey with the Lord Yeshua (Jesus) where we can look back and say, “At that time, on that day, the Lord did that for me.” Whether it was your day of salvation, your baptism in water or the Holy Spirit, or maybe a day He brought a financial miracle in your life. You too have markers along the way. One marker I recall during this journey was the time I gave that word, as we sat around a table at a winery in northern Israel, enjoying the relaxed company and hearing each share of their personal life. It brought of closer together. It helped increase our awareness of the gifts, the calling, the work we each had done, and would continue to do in the Lord’s kingdom. We each grew more comfortable around each other, hearing different things that gave us a further appreciation of each other. We knew the Lord had joined us together for this time. There was another occasion when we had gone to the Jerusalem House of Prayer (Tom Hess’ ministry) on Mount Scopus in Jerusalem. We had been given a brief tour to the top of the ministry house where 24/7 prayer and worship had taken place for decades. As we started to head down the winding stairs, David Peterman began speaking a word in an unknown language. As he was finishing, the Holy Spirit moved in me, and I knew the interpretation was coming. Part of what I recall saying was, “I have brought you together on this journey. You are here by design. Each one has a purpose and place. I have picked each of you individually to be on this trip together. It is for this time.” There were other markers that occurred during the 10-day trip. Several were sharing the meals we ate with believers in the Land, as our connections grew stronger and relationships strengthened. As for me, I believe it was the best trip that I have ever had to Israel (and I have been there many times.) The Lord had me build altars (markers) in my heart and mind to remember these placemarks for future times to come. We can also be grateful that many sites have been preserved in Israel, to honor and remember what the Lord did for others at these locations, helping to establish our spiritual heritage too as believers grafted into the olive tree of the believing Jews, to share in the salvation of the Messiah. Yeshua HaMashiach. I encourage you to be aware of those times in your past, your present, and in those that are yet to come…to realize that the Lord wants you to remember them, to mark them as special, and to use them to build and strengthen your faith for when they will be needed to encourage you on in your journey. ![]() An Ahava Adventure by Steve Martin (published 2020) It all started back in October 2018 when I made, what I thought was going to be the finishing one, my last trip to Israel. Since my inceptive journey in 1987 with the first ministry I served with, Mahesh Chavda Ministries (living at the time in Fort Lauderdale, Florida), I had since that time made 19 trips to the Holy Land, the Promised Land of the Jews. This October 2018 trip was my 20th, and just prior to going I had decided it would be my last. A few months ahead of this trip, discouragement had come upon me, and I felt I could no longer continue the work of the ministry, Love For His People, which my good wife Laurie and I had founded in April 2010. That had been, quite literally, following the inspiration of the Lord Jesus, after I had continually cried out to Him for many years, wanting “my own vineyard.” It was a dream of myself, like others, to be “full-time” in ministry, but after the longevity of serving under the leadership of others, I longed for my own. That can happen to one after serving long and hard for and with three other well-known men (and their wives) in their ministries. Oh, how the Lord loves us. Oh, how He leads us in His paths of righteousness for His Name’s sake. Oh, how He directs our steps and leads us in the way we are to go. He is Faithful, and He who called us is ever True. He does not ever give up on us. Sometime during the latter part of those 10 days in October 2018, walking by myself down the ancient streets of Jerusalem’s Old City to visit friends and familiar sites; traversing the bustling sidewalks and side streets of the new portions since 1948 when Israel’s declared its independence as a nation once again; or riding the light rail train from Jaffa Street to the end-of-the-line drop off point, near the Yad Vashem’s (Holocaust Museum) entrance, the Holy Spirit spoke to me. It was a clear word, though not audibly. But being His friend too, I knew it was Him.“This is not your last trip to Jerusalem. In fact, from now on you will be coming twice a year.”“I will?” I responded skeptically, internally. “And if so, then You are going to have to help me pay for it. I cannot.”“You do as I say out of obedience. I will take care of the provision.” He made sure I understood what He had just said, with a firm, “make sure you get this” response, but with plenty of hope, faith, and love covering His words. That was then. And today, as I write these first words of my next prophesied book (#25!) on September 11, 2019, Wednesday early morning at my home near south Charlotte, North Carolina (the day when Americans remember the attack of 9-11, 18 years later), the plans have been tediously put together for my 22nd trip back to Israel, and our Lord’s beloved city of Jerusalem, it’s capital, and His chosen people dwelling there. And coming along with me this time are three other men. I will tell you that story as time goes by, as you read of the “rest of the story” – as Paul Harvey, the Chicago area radio and TV man, liked to say decades ago. But what follows is just an inkling of what is yet to come. To purchase on Amazon: An Ahava Adventure – Hardcover $17.95 Paperback $9.95 |
