Greetings to my family and friends of Love For His People Ministry.

After driving over 38 hours in 9 days (it was well worth it!) to be with family and friends in the Midwest, Laurie and I returned home on Sunday to welcome into our home the next day our friend for over 15 years. Pastor John Ebenezer from India joined us for three days. (And now to help him replace his lost passport before returning to India in September!)John and I were able to get with some other men of God, as we seek to strengthen and build up one another in the Lord’s plans and purposes.

And as I asked the Lord for a new message, being it had been a while, He gave me the one I am sharing with you now, tying in with men getting together. I know it will encourage several of you. Many, I hope!

It is called WALK NOT ALONE and is found further below in this contact message.

Before we left, with me on vacation last week and David Peterman to be gone next week, we recorded several Ahava Moments With You videos to share. But included in this email are ones from our time in Charleston, SC. Watch all three here: Charleston, SC Shabbat gathering Click the title, or watch the first part below.

Be blessed with His ahava and shalom,

Walk Not Alone

“These are the names of David’s mightiest warriors. The first was Jashobeam the Hacmonite, who was leader of the Three—the three mightiest warriors among David’s men. He once used his spear to kill 800 enemy warriors in a single battle.” 2 Samuel 23:8, NLT

Recently I “got in trouble” with some dear sisters in the Lord when I spoke of wanting to take men on ministry trips, somewhat implying that the desire was to take “only men.”

Well, I must confess outwardly and openly. My heart is to see men raised up to be godly men, and yes, sometimes that means we must be a group of men only to do that. And sometimes that means a “men’s only” field trip, to distant lands. Specifically, Israel is my favorite nation to take men to.

So, ladies, I am sorry if you don’t like that and do not read on further. (But I bet you do if I was a betting man.)

David had his men who were looking for more. In fact, the Scriptures tell of “David’s men” – the ones who had been in distress, debt, and discontented.

“So David departed from there and escaped to the cave of Adullam; and when his brothers and all his father’s household heard of it, they went down there to him. Everyone who was in distress, and everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him; and he became captain over them. Now there were about four hundred men with him.” 1 Samuel 22:1-2, NASU

I know there are many men today who could and would fit that description of their current condition. In fact, many men have no vision, no motivation, and no desire to excel beyond TV sports and video games. Party when you can. Sleep when you are not. Too few in fact know what they are called to do, and therefore they are not doing it.

My heart over this last decade has been turned more and more to see men find their place in the Body and walk in it. Each has a specific calling. Each has an eternal purpose and a plan set forth by the Lord before the foundation of the world. If they can grasp even a small perspective of that their lives would change, and impact others.

I loved the Promise Keepers Movement back in the 1990s. Promise Keepers was for men, founded in 1990 by Bill McCartney, then the head football coach at the University of Colorado Boulder. The ministry’s purpose was to bring men together and inspire them to be men of God. I was able to go to the Promise Keepers event held in the Charlotte, North Carolina NASCAR stadium with my dad and sons in the mid-90s. Hearing 60,000 men sing, worship, and hear of their call in God inspired me and so many more.

Men are not to walk alone. We are not meant to be the “one and only” in the pack to conquer the world by ourselves. Men need men. Sons need fathers. Godly men need to lead the ones yet to mature in the ways of the Lord, with encouragement, inspiration, and faith through courage.

So, when it has become my heart’s desire, put there by the Lord Jesus Himself, to take men on foreign trips, i.e., Israel, it is not to leave behind the other half of God’s wonderful creation. It is to put a vision in men and cause them to better lead their wives, their families, and their communities around them. It is also to encourage them to know and understand the Lord’s heart for Israel and His people in these last days.

Lord, give us more men to do just that with. We will not walk alone, but through the encouragement and strength that men with men accomplish, we will do as You lead. The world will be a better place because of it. (And thanks, ladies, for reading this too. I know you did!)

Message #92 in this series – in the year of our Lord 07.27.2022 – “Walk Not Alone”,  Wednesday, 7:00 pm in  Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! Ahava (Love) MomentsWith You – Steve Martin and David Peterman

We have a big announcement! David Peterman and I are available to come and minister to your home group, church, or Messianic synagogue to share what we have found in our Lord Yeshua (Jesus) and now walk out in faith – a love for Israel, the Jews, and believers. We speak from our hearts and experiences based on biblical disciplines, with foundational Jewish roots, and continuing onward through to the end of the Book in Revelation, to strengthen the One New Man in Yeshua.

David and I have known each other through fellowship for over 10 years and have walked closely in both natural and spiritual events and moments. Through working together in building a house, traveling to Israel, having home groups, Shabbat meetings, and other gathering locations in the Carolinas, the Lord has bonded us together, and now we sense the timing of the Lord to expand our tents to help establish others even more.

Over the past four months, we have also been recording our new video series Ahava (Love) Moments With You, shared on the Love For His People YouTube channel and other social platforms. These messages help bring encouragement, inspiration, insight, and further understanding of the ways of the Lord.

We look forward to hearing from you if you would like to invite us to come.

Contact us at either Steve Martin (loveforhispeople@gmail.com) or David Peterman (rabbiahava@gmail.com). Further details will be shared as we hear from you. Ahava and shalom, Steve Martin, David Peterman July 28, 2022

Laurie and I went to one of the places that will always be special in my memories on our Midwest journey, the week of July 20, 2022. It was to my childhood home in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

In this house, there were 10 Martins – my parents, 5 sisters, and 3 sons. I am still the oldest son and 2nd on the children’s list. Check it out! Steve Martin WATCH HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umhhlc3D3cQ&list=PLlRsYroaU_0DIeT2kInCysweEa-CpynZ6&index=9
Here is my latest book. Click here: Encouragement! Paperback, Kindle, and now HARDBACK!

Encouragement – first from Jerusalem, Israel, and then from Charlotte, North Carolina, USAby Steve Martin (published May 25, 2022)

In April 2022 my good friend David Peterman of Lancaster, South Carolina, and I took an Ahava Adventure (“love” in Hebrew) back to Jerusalem as soon as the skies and the Land of Israel opened up again. During those 10 days the Lord Yeshua, Jesus Christ, gave me words to share, which I wrote down each day to share with others. These make up the first part of this book.

The next section is comprised of messages inspired by the Holy Spirit from our home in Charlotte, North Carolina, beginning before and after the Israel trip. As the Lord would give me a prophetic word, I would start writing and He would further expand on it. Thus those words are written in the major section of this book.

Everyone needs encouragement. Every day. All the negative news spewed out from social media platforms and airwaves needs to be offset by the good news the Lord Jesus (Yeshua) brings to us. From the time He walked the streets of Jerusalem in the first century, to today in this 21st Century, He shares love from heaven and from this home in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Until He returns soon, may these messages uplift your spirit, reveal more of His heart, and sustain you as you walk daily in the direction the Holy Spirit gives with the grace and provision that comes with His presence.
