Greetings to family and friends of Love For His People.

I know it is coming. That which you have prayed for, fasted at times about, sought the Lord in your quiet, and maybe even not so quiet vocal times. Even when you didn’t think He was listening, you were silently wanting Him to bring it after waiting for so long.

Be encouraged as you read below what the Lord gave me to share with you, entitled “New Shoes”.

And after you do read my message be sure to put on your calendar the dates and locations for when Chaim Malespin, the Director of the Aliyah Return Center and the Vertical Worship in Tiberias, Israel is coming to NC/SC May 15-18, 2022.

It was great being with Chaim in Israel on the Love For His People Ahava Adventure we had in April. He will be fresh from his time in Kansas City where he took part in the Bob Jones prophetic fulfillment of President Truman’s property given for the prayer movement for Israel and the nations. More info is below.

New Shoes

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body and refreshment to your bones. Honor the Lord from your wealth and from the first of all your produce; so your barns will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow with new wine.” Proverbs 3:5-10, NASU

There are several of you who are connoisseurs of wine. You know what is delightful and others not so much. If I were to drink wine it would be the sweet ones, like port wine or Moscato. (I had to look up what were sweet wines.) There are some I know who don’t consider those the best wines. To each his own!

So, what does wine have to do with new shoes? I will get to that in a moment.

When I drove up to the bank ATM on a good Friday, I had to take the debit card out of my wallet. Being my wallet is still rather new, unlike the old, worn-out one that I really liked, I had to open a few sections to find the right bank card.
Then the Holy Spirit said, “It is like wearing new shoes.”

Hmm. Sounds like a message will come of that.

And so here it is.

Being I have spent many days traversing the hills and wine country of Israel on several occasions with my good wife Laurie, I have gotten to know a bit about the winemaking process after taking the winery tours. I often heard that to get the proper finished product, palatable to the mouth and beyond, the liquid has to be poured from one barrel to another after a time each, leaving behind sediment that if left with the wine would make it bitter.

So now you keep asking what a new wallet, a pair of new shoes and lovely wine have to do with each other?

Change. It is all about change.

As wine must be poured out from one barrel to a new barrel, and then another, to make it the best possible; wallets (and purses!) are changed after a period of years, due to wear, tear, or size; and of course when you get that awesome new pair of shoes, be they black, brown, blue suede (I threw that in for Ray) or whatever your taste delights in…there must be time to break them in before they become your next really comfortable ones on your feet.

Many of you, and I included, are going through change or will be shortly. How do I know? Because the Lord is bringing refreshment to His people, bringing “prayed for and fasted for” atmospherically and spiritually desirous changes sought after these past many months, while also it is happening in the natural.

What used to be will be no more. Closed doors will only cause you to move on to open ones. What you thought was “forsaken, left behind, never-going-to-happen” situations will suddenly be changed to “Look what the Lord has done!” and “What has just happened!” as the Lord God of Israel moves on in your life.

It will be the change that He desires to have you do, to take you to the next place, relationship, or dream you have been holding onto, waiting for the time for it to come to pass.

The Lord spoke this prophetic word through Isaiah the prophet. It was meant for Cyrus. I also believe He is giving it to us in some measure.

“Thus says the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have grasped, to subdue nations before him and to loose the belts of kings, to open doors before him that gates may not be closed: “I will go before you and level the exalted places, I will break in pieces the doors of bronze and cut through the bars of iron, I will give you the treasures of darkness and the hoards in secret places, that you may know that it is I, the Lord, the God of Israel, who call you by your name.

For the sake of my servant Jacob, and Israel my chosen, I call you by your name, I name you, though you do not know me. I am the Lord, and there is no other, besides me there is no God; I equip you, though you do not know me, that people may know, from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is none besides me; I am the Lord, and there is no other.” Isaiah 45:1-6, ESV

Doors will open. You are getting a new “wallet or purse”. The new wine is coming your way.

And you are getting new shoes. For you will need them to take you places you have not been before, taking His love, good news, and His heart’s desire to see the nations saved as they come to Him.

As for me, I cherish along with you what He has in store for all of us.

It is a new season. Believe in the Lord and see what He will do as you have trusted and continually trust in Him.

David Peterman and I share an update on the time coming here in the Carolinas with Chaim.

Trust Me Still. Your Faith in God.
by Steve Martin (Published 2021)

During the years 1960-1974 my family, with parents Louis and Lila Martin, and my siblings, Sue, Mary, Tom, Colleen, Janet, Lynn and Rob, lived at 1116 Main Street in Cedar Falls, Iowa. That home is pictured on the front cover of this book, and of this date still stands.

It was in that home that we grew in knowledge and truth to trust in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. With the input given to all of us through our parents, be it during the good and the bad times, a good foundation was laid for our spiritual, social, and natural lives.

I decided to feature that house on the cover because I want to acknowledge that the Lord decides where we live, and move, and exist.

“… and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, 27 that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;” Acts 17: 26-27, NASB

Since those years have come and gone, my faith in Him has grown, been tested, and still stands strong, continuing to trust in Him day in and day out.

I hope these following chapters encourage you in your walk of faith. And at the end of your days, you will be known as one who has stood strong, still trusting in the Living God. He alone is the One Who can take you to the end, and who constantly watches over Israel and all believers in Him. He is the One too Who is coming back soon again.
