Charlotte, North Carolina
Greetings to family and friends of Love For His People.
I love watching the birds in our North Carolina home backyard come and get seed from the bird feeder I have hanging by a rope (so the squirrels don’t get it!) It is a daily reminder of the Lord’s provision in my family’s life.
Be encouraged as you read below what the Lord gave me this morning for you entitled, “Treasured Love”.
But before you do…be sure to put on your calendar the dates and locations for when Chaim Malespin, the Director of the Aliyah Return Center in Tiberias, Israel is coming to NC/SC in less than 2 weeks. It was great also being with Chaim on this Ahava Adventure we had in April. He will be with us here in the very same room David spoke in this past Friday night. See more info below also.

“…for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21, NASU We do what we value. We give time to that which we believe will gain us more pleasure, more spending money, and a better lifestyle so that we can keep up with the ones who have slightly more than we do at the present time. Or for most just to make ends meet.
Of course, we don’t say that publicly. But we are saying it publicly through our actions, which we know speak louder than our words.
It has been said that a man or woman’s heart can be revealed through their wallet and checkbook. Nowadays that would more readily be shown on their credit card statement(s). As an accountant for most of my career jobs, along with operational and personnel administration, I know that is true.
Annually Mastercard and Visa will give you a pie chart (a circle with wedges showing the expenditures in a way most people can quickly grasp, though as one who knows financial statements, I think these types of presentations can be very deceptive), in color of course, to present what you spent buying in essential (or not) goods, traveling excursions, or weekly entertainment. It is a very revealing way to tell what you treasure.
Yeshua (Jesus) said it rightly, stating the nature of how His creation operates. It is a word to the wise, and even the foolish is possibly they will listen. I like how the Message version puts it in Matthews 6:19-26, when Yeshua was teaching those who had gathered around Him. Some due to curiosity. Some wanting to know truth.
“Don’t hoard treasure down here where it gets eaten by moths and corroded by rust or — worse! — stolen by burglars. Stockpile treasure in heaven, where it’s safe from moth and rust and burglars. It’s obvious, isn’t it? The place where your treasure is, is the place you will most want to be, and end up being.
“Your eyes are windows into your body. If you open your eyes wide in wonder and belief, your body fills up with light. If you live squinty-eyed in greed and distrust, your body is a dank cellar. If you pull the blinds on your windows, what a dark life you will have!”You can’t worship two gods at once. Loving one god, you’ll end up hating the other. Adoration of one feeds contempt for the other. You can’t worship God and Money both.
“If you decide for God, living a life of God-worship, it follows that you don’t fuss about what’s on the table at mealtimes or whether the clothes in your closet are in fashion. There is far more to your life than the food you put in your stomach, more to your outer appearance than the clothes you hang on your body. Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, careless in the care of God. And you count far more to him than birds.”
I am thankful that early on in my life I got educated enough (proper English?) that striving after gold and silver, or “Bennies” as one of my five sisters calls them ($50 bill with Benjamin Franklin on it) was not worth the daily stress, week-long weariness, and precious time spent away from family in pursuing it. Trusting in His provision IS what matters and will in the long run get you further ahead.
Having a bird feeder hanging from one of the big Bradford Pear trees in our Charlotte area backyard provides enjoyment watching them, especially the state bird of North Carolina, the red cardinals, and the occasional blue jay. Even the morning doves, and crows, find the seeds on the ground that I scattered just for them.
“Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.
Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matthew 6:26-34, NKJV
You and I both know we live in troubling times. I believe in fact that these are the end of days, the last times, especially as we see prophecy being fulfilled with the return of Jews to their promised Land of Israel. (It is called aliyah.)
It can be very stressful with inflation concerns bringing higher prices for food, clothing, transportation, and housing while at the same time our income basically remains the same from the previous months or year.
So, what do you do? This I know. As for me and my house, we will trust even more in the provision, protection, and direction the good Lord, the Maker of us all, has said for us to do.
“As for me and my household, we will serve Adonai (the Lord)!” Joshua 24:15, Complete Jewish Bible
Trust more in Him. Have daily time with Him. Seek His face and His heart and you too will know of His faithfulness and provision.
As the great Bible teacher, Derek Prince always said, “God is Faithful.” Know that for sure in your life today.
May your treasured love above all be found in Yeshua (Jesus).

Trust Me Still. Your Faith in God.
by Steve Martin (Published 2021)
During the years 1960-1974 my family, with parents Louis and Lila Martin, and my siblings, Sue, Mary, Tom, Colleen, Janet, Lynn and Rob, lived at 1116 Main Street in Cedar Falls, Iowa. That home is pictured on the front cover of this book, and of this date still stands.
It was in that home that we grew in knowledge and truth to trust in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. With the input given to all of us through our parents, be it during the good and the bad times, a good foundation was laid for our spiritual, social, and natural lives.
I decided to feature that house on the cover because I want to acknowledge that the Lord decides where we live, and move, and exist.
“… and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, 27 that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;” Acts 17: 26-27, NASB
Since those years have come and gone, my faith in Him has grown, been tested, and still stands strong, continuing to trust in Him day in and day out.
I hope these following chapters encourage you in your walk of faith. And at the end of your days, you will be known as one who has stood strong, still trusting in the Living God. He alone is the One Who can take you to the end, and who constantly watches over Israel and all believers in Him. He is the One too Who is coming back soon again.
