Back To Israel
“Many nations will come and say, “Come and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord and to the house of the God of Jacob, that He may teach us about His ways and that we may walk in His paths. For from Zion will go forth the law, even the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.” Micah 4:2, NASB
The time has finally come. After waiting two and a half years, and six canceled trips during that time, we are finally getting back to Israel!
Along with my good friend David Peterman, newly appointed Vice-President of Love For His People, Inc., we will be embarking on our journey the first week in April 2022. I was last in the Land in May 2019 with my good wife Laurie and October 2019 with three other friends. (I wrote about that exciting adventure in my book, An Ahava Adventure, which you can get online. See below.)
David was last there, on his first trip, over four years ago. How we have longed and prayed about getting back to the land of our friends. Finally!
We will be spending 10 days in Jerusalem, bringing encouragement, and getting encouraged, with friends, some of whom we have been supporting for 12 years through this Love For His People ministry. In their homes, in their shops, even in their taxi as with Nouri, we will have plenty of time to share with each other as to how the Lord sustains, provides, and continues to direct us together in His steps, for the fulfillment of His Word as He brings the Jews back home (aliyah) to the holy land of Israel.
One wonderful family we will be with are the Lerners, Nissim and Hadassah, whom I have known since 2011. Having stayed in their home several times over the years, just a short drive north of Jerusalem, I have watched them minister by housing and giving provision for many new immigrants (olim). A few years ago, they officially started His Lighthouse, Inc. to further support and provide for those coming to Israel from other nations, including China and Ukraine. Recently they obtained a shipping container, had it placed on property nearby, and have begun filling it with supplies to meet the demands and needs of those coming back to the land of their ancestors.
We will also spend time with our good friend Rabbi Kokeb Gedamu, founder of the Messianic Ethiopian Jewish Congregation Amud HaEsh in Jerusalem. David Peterman was the first to meet Kokeb in Jerusalem, and then I was able to meet up with Rabbi a year later. Since then, he was a speaker at our Aliyah For His People conference held here in the Charlotte, North Carolina area in July 2020.
Kokeb pastors several families who have made aliyah to Israel from the African nation of Ethiopia. Along with weekly care and teaching, his heart is to also educate the kids with computer skills, as many of their fathers have ended up in jail, leaving families hurting for finances.
One of my joys will be spending time with Abraham Saidian, a delightful Iranian Jew who has since his arrival in the late 1940s established two gift shops, along with his sons, wife, and daughter, on Ben Yehuda Street in Jerusalem. In 1997 he had me over to his home for a Shabbat meal, showing gratitude for helping him make an important phone call back to the USA. LFHP was able to help him and the families with funds last fall, as the Israel tourism business came to a standstill these past two years.
David and I will be making several trips to the Western Wall. The last time I went I was able to place three 3”x5” notecards into one of the crevices, filled on all six sides with names of family, friends, and those I didn’t even know, as a prayer connection. Believing that the Lord hears our prayers as we present them to Him in many ways, this is one means to do just that. If you would like to have your name and others placed in the Wall, please email them to me before April 1. (LoveForHisPeople@gmail.com)
As a side note, this trip will be low cost for the two of us as we make every attempt to keep expenses low. We are staying all nights in the Abraham Hostel to save on lodging. A credit on account from 2019, which they thankfully had given us, covers our entire stay.
My flight is covered by frequent flyer mileage totally. Having built up 280,000 mileages from holding American Airlines credit cards (and making use of the 50,000-70,000 mileage they gave initially for each one!) it covers the normal $1,200 roundtrip ticket.
Again, we delight in saving money in order to share more with those we will encourage.
If you would like to give a contribution to include along with others who give, over and above the monthly support we share with these friends who minister daily in Israel, please make use of the several means of giving, either online or by mail, as noted below. We will then give it to them in person.
We are so grateful to the Lord for overcoming all obstacles, as we carry out His plans and purposes as best we can, with the means given, to bless the nation of Israel. Thank you for being a part of His plan too!
“So the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with singing, with everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness; sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” Isaiah 51:11, NKJV

|An Ahava Adventure by Steve Martin|
As I wrote these first words of my next prophesied book (#25!) on September 11, 2019, Wednesday early morning at my home near south Charlotte, North Carolina, the plans had already been tediously put together for my 22nd trip back to Israel, and our Lord’s beloved city of Jerusalem, it’s capital, and His chosen people dwelling there. And coming along with me at that time were three other good men.
It was an adventure (“ahava” is love in Hebrew) written for each day by day, and shared with you, that I know you will enjoy reading. Order here: Paperback only $10.95 E-book $0.99
