Greetings to our Love For His People family and friends.
Sometimes it seems the onslaught never ends. The battle keeps raging on, draining us of resources, energy, and commitment to the battle we find ourselves in. But we must not quit or give up.
In writing this message, I thought back to the many times strength came from the Lord Jesus, to stand fast, hang in there, keep on pressing on. I hope you will too find encouragement in this message: Stand Fast.
I love the month of October. Fall leaves. Cool temperatures. Festivals normally abound. On this 8th day, 43 years ago, I sang to my bride as she walked down the aisle. I am thankful we are still singing His praise and glory these several decades later together.
Ahava and shalom,

Stand Fast – Steve Martin
“For the word of the Lord is upright, and all His work is done in faithfulness.” Psalm 33:4, NASU
Many of us can remember times when there were excited fans at the home football game, and their team was lined up at the goal line, defending their end zone. Tense, nerve-wracking minutes lingered on the turf. If they held, the game was theirs and they would win. If they did not, that was it. Game over. Defeat.
I remember the 8th-grade game, back in the late 1960s, and our grade school team was hosting another football team from the rival town. They were bigger. Faster. And to me I thought we were going down in flames. With my cousins there from Minnesota, watching on the sidelines, I wanted to do good and show them that we could compete.
The opponents had the ball. When snapped, the quarterback quickly turned, tossed it to the wingback coming from the right side, who then turned the corner coming straight at me. Either I stopped him, or they would score.
“Lord Jesus” was the prayer uttered from under my helmet.
He came right at me, knowing he outweighed and outstood my smaller body. But I had to stop him. I had to stand fast.
Being taught to go low, I squared my legs and took the full blow to the body. Down I went, with himself landing on top of me. It knocked the breath out of me. I thought I was going to die.
Though we didn’t win the game, we gave it our best shot, and made the fans proud. Later when I played on the same baseball team with that running back, when both of us were in the same high school, I had still recalled the time when I had stood fast and held my ground. He still gloated, but now we were friends, teaming together against the other schools. And he was still bigger than me.
Applying life experiences from yesterday helps us withstand the trials and warfare we face today. Remembering those times when we called on the Lord, even in something as simple as a grade school football game, and He heard our prayer, can offer confidence for us today. Those moments when He displayed His faithfulness gives us courage to stand fast once again.
The enemy seems as if he will not give up. The constant hammering, hoping to wear us down, seems to go and on. “If it is not one thing it is another” is often said. And yet we must stand. Our eternal lives, and those of our families and nations, go well beyond simple football games. Our very souls are on the line. We must stand strong.
Find strength and renewed courage in the Lord Jesus again today. Read His Word. Communicate with Him in prayer. Seek Him first and He will direct your paths.
Our God is faithful. He not only will help us hold the line, but He will enable us to overcome the enemy of our soul.
TIME TO ACT – new book by Steve Martin
It is time to act, for that which we have been anticipating and waiting for so long is now upon us.
Yes, the Lord God Almighty, the One seated on His heavenly throne, had His Hebrew prophets speak centuries ago to His people of this time.
So, what is happening that you and me need to be so observant of?
The nation of Israel was rebirth in 1948.
The city of Jerusalem was united in 1967. The Holy Spirit has been poured out on the nations, as signs and wonders reveal His power and glory in our time. The One New Man is coming together, as Jews and Gentiles, believers in Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, unite.
And Jews from around the world are returning to the promised land, Israel, making Aliyah. Prophesied through Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, and more…they are coming home by the thousands as it is becoming a priority for them, prompt by the Lord God of Israel Himself.
Yes, it is time. It is time to act.
P.S. Notice I changed the cover? I felt having the Golden Gates (Eastern Gates) of Jerusalem’s Old City, the ones where Yeshua (Jesus) will walk through once again, to give us a more reflective view on why we should be taking the time to act now, as the Lord’s return draws even closer than it was yesterday.
