The Day of the Lord is Coming
“I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; I will halt the arrogance of the proud and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.” Isaiah 13:11, NKJV
We have become weary of the unceasing violence in our city streets; the destruction of our businesses built over lifetimes; the disruption of our places of gathered worship (I believe in “social fellowshipping”); the lifting up of the names of anarchists who say they stand for justice and retribution, for the names of lives they seriously don’t give a damn about, using them just as the igniting spark to push their own agenda down our throats in the name of “justice” and BLM.
Those who know the Lord long for His day of justice, His day of righteousness, His day of action to come when He will put an end to the injustice, the unrighteous, the haughtiness of those who today do constant evil in our nations and lands.
Even as a child we knew instinctively when things were not fair, when the big bully was picking on the little guy. And we cried for someone to act, to stop the hurtful actions, the meanness, the cruelty.
I remember my grade school years back at St. Patrick’s Catholic Elementary School in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The daily playground time out on the blacktop would either be a time of fun and enjoyment, having a quick 20-minute time of competitive kickball after getting out of our classroom desks for a needed break from the nun’s teaching, or it was a time of bad memories, when Tom would remove his hooked, prosthetic arm to fight Ray, who would continually badger Tom to the point of starting a one-handed fist fight to prove he wouldn’t take the bullying anymore. That was in 7th grade. Even at a Catholic grade school. (True first names. I remember their last names too.)
That day is coming. The Lord Almighty, Who looks down on all knowingly, with full knowledge and understanding of what is going on, will soon have His day when He will fully act and do away with it all that ultimately stands against Him and His Word.
Those who today believe they have the final word, the law of the land, the way of the sword, will be proven wrong when they stand before their Creator, and He shows them Who is right. That day is coming.
This is our hope. Justice will prevail. Our God says it, and it certainly will happen.
“Behold, the day of the Lord comes, cruel, with both wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate; and He will destroy its sinners from it. For the stars of heaven and their constellations will not give their light; the sun will be darkened in its going forth, and the moon will not cause its light to shine.

Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, the One Who came to this planet to save us from our sins, will have the last word on all that stand up opposing His rule, His laws of justice, His government, and His way of life that He has been wanting to give to all, that of faith, hope, and love.
Look at what He says to us who know Him, in the Book of Revelation.
“The people I love, I call to account — prod and correct and guide so that they’ll live at their best. Up on your feet, then! About face! Run after God!
“Look at me. I stand at the door. I knock. If you hear me call and open the door, I’ll come right in and sit down to supper with you. Conquerors will sit alongside me at the head table, just as I, having conquered, took the place of honor at the side of my Father. That’s my gift to the conquerors!
“Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches.” Revelation 3:19-22, THE MESSAGE
(By the way, Jesus is knocking at OUR door – to let Him in for daily renewal in spirit, soul, and body. Do you answer your door?)
So, we continue to pray. We continue to act and speak up. We continue to stand for goodness and righteousness in these days of evil, knowing that it will not be in vain, for the Day of the Lord is coming. He will prevail. He will rule. He will bring His Kingdom to earth as it is in heaven, coming into the affairs of men.
On this we hope, for our God reigns, and He will show Himself strong on our behalf in that Day, and even today.
The Day of the Lord is coming. Rise up, Church! Rise up, men and women of God! Our God reigns!
“But the Lord abides forever; He has established His throne for judgment, and He will judge the world in righteousness; He will execute judgment for the peoples with equity. The Lord also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble; and those who know Your name will put their trust in You, for You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.” Psalm 9:7-10, NASU
