Jeremiah: “Primarily, in the word, I’ve been in Habakkuk 3:16-18, where the prophet is battling fear in a time of shaking. Verse 16 says, “I listened and my stomach churned. The sound made my lips quiver. My frame went limp, as if my bones were decaying, and I shook as I tried to walk. But he goes on to say in verse 18, “I will rejoice because of the Lord; I will be happy because of the God who delivers me!” The Lord is asking us to live a lifestyle of trembling before the Lord so that when shaking comes we’re at peace. We have not learned how to tremble, how to really get the knowledge of God when things aren’t shaking.” Be blessed. Remember: you have been “blessed to be a blessing.” (Genesis 12:2)

When Moses took the children of Israel out of in the Passover, they went to Mount Sinai, where they saw fire on the mountain and heard a voice speak (which filled them with fear). It is in the wilderness God where gives to Moses the first five books of the Bible and the ten commands. God was visiting them in order to prepare them for their next assignment – to go into the land of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Jebusites, etc. This is called the land of promise and there were seven nations greater and mightier than the Jews. God promised to be with them and equip them to take the land. Pentecost celebrated when God gave them the law. Hebrews 12 18 You have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom and storm; 19 to a trumpet blast or to such a voice speaking words that those who heard it begged that no further word be spoken to them. The writer Hebrews contrasts the Old Testament with the new: Hebrews 12 22 But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, 23 and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, 24 and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. The writer talks about this moment when the voice of God and the presence of God terrified them.

This is Pentecost, and what happens here is in the New Covenant the Lord comes down with a new voice, the gift of the Holy Spirit represented by the miraculous give of a speaking languages they had never learned. From that moment the church became the voice of the Lord. The Spirit of God would speak through the church. We’re about to become the people that are visited with God’s presence, God’s power and God’s administrative agenda. My friend Jeremiah Johnson is ready to join us. Jeremiah tell me what the Lord been speaking to you. Jeremiah Johnson Primarily, in the word, I’ve been in Habakkuk 3 16 I listened and my stomach churned.

The sound made my lips quiver. My frame went limp, as if my bones were decaying, and I shook as I tried to walk. I long for the day of distress to come upon the people who attack us. 18 I will rejoice because of the Lord; I will be happy because of the God who delivers me! What the Lord has been talking to me about is there’s this invitation to live a lifestyle of trembling before the Lord so that when shaking comes we’re at peace. I believe a lot of what we’re witnessing right now is a lot of the church has been shaken in their theology concerning the crisis that’s at hand. We have not learned how to tremble, how to really get the knowledge of God when things aren’t shaking.

There’s a fresh invitation to the body of Christ right now that in the midst of crisis God is inviting us into the place of peace. We can be at peace and we can be at rest in the days of shaking. We had this prophecy from Bob Jones. I remember when the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl. I was getting text messages about the revival and the stadium gatherings. Then the virus hits and everything shuts down. I began to research revivals. We need to get into Isaiah 60 and recognize that there’s glory and crisis; there is light and darkness. The increase of darkness in a nation is a prophetic sign to the church that now is the time to arise and shine.
