“Lift up your eyes round about and see; they all gather together, they come to you. Your sons will come from afar, and your daughters will be carried in the arms.” Isaiah 60:4 NASB
Having been born into a “non-Jewish” family, you may wonder why I would even care about Jews returning to Israel. After all, people move all the time, within cities, states, and countries, so what is the big deal about Jews going back to Israel? And why should I, why should you, have any concern?
Being raised as a Christian, we were told, especially in the Roman Catholic Church, and later in Baptist, Charismatic, and evangelical churches that I belonged to as a member, that because “the Jews killed Jesus” (which isn’t true by the way) they lost any and all inheritance and acceptance by God, let alone any connection to the Land known for centuries as Israel, before the Romans cursed the land by calling it Palestinia (Palestine).
I was also taught that a theology, known as “Replacement Theology”, removed the Jews from any favor with God, and that the Christian Church now has, and is to further receive all the promises made to them, the Jews, by God. This has been another great, erroneous teaching for centuries. (*Scripture below.)
So why again should I, or you, care anything about the welfare of the Jewish people, the land of Israel, and what the Bible has to say about all this.
Frankly, if the Creator of the Universe, God Almighty, says that in the last days He is bringing back His dispersed people to the Land He promised to them, and accurately, historically recorded in the Bible, which will never pass away being God’s Word, then as believers, we need to be aware, and even participate alongside them, in their return.
The Bible clearly states in these verses, and many other passages, what the Lord said He Himself will do in regard to the Jews.
“For I will take you from the nations, gather you from all the lands and bring you into your own land. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances. You will live in the land that I gave to your forefathers; so you will be My people, and I will be your God.” Ezekiel 36:24-28, NASB
If it is so important to God the Father, it should be as important to us.
In 1979, after attending a conference with my good wife, featuring the British/American Bible teacher named Derek Prince in upper Michigan on Mackinac Island, my eyes were opened, and my heart pierced, with the clarity and understanding that he taught through his words and writing, “Our Debt To Israel”. That I, as a Christian, a Gentile (non-Jew), has an obligation to His Chosen people to help them get back to their Promised Land, as part of my personal debt to them.
The land is Israel. It rightfully belongs to them. My spiritual debt to them, and honestly all believers included, because of what the Jews have given the world, beginning with the Bible, the Prophets, and then the Messiah Himself, Yeshua HaMashiach, has become our obligation and duty, in these end time days.
As they come back to Israel, returning by their immigration from all the nations of the earth, it is called “aliyah” in Hebrew. The Bible says that we are to assist them in this return.
““Lift up your eyes round about and see; They all gather together, they come to you. Your sons will come from afar, and your daughters will be carried in the arms.” Isaiah 60:4 NASB
As a believer in Yeshua (Jesus), we have the great opportunity to be involved in this utmost fact that has been on His heart. Along with seeing the people of the world finding forgiveness and salvation though His saving blood on the cross, this movement being done by His Holy Spirit, in establishing Israel once again after 2,000 years, as prophesied centuries before, is and should be important to all of us.
And if we don’t help the Jews…
“For the nation and the kingdom which will not serve you will perish, and the nations will be utterly ruined.” Isaiah 60:12, NASB
Now think on this.

*Further Scripture follows, disputing the notion that the Church replaced the Jews, as many would think and be taught today in multiple of churches worldwide.
In Romans 11:13-31 it is written: “But I am speaking to you who are Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle of Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, if somehow I might move to jealousy my [a]fellow countrymen and save some of them. For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? f the first piece of dough is holy, the lump is also; and if the root is holy, the branches are too.
But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the [b]rich root of the olive tree, do not be arrogant toward the branches; but if you are arrogant, remember that it is not you who supports the root, but the root supports you. You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.”
Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you stand by your faith. Do not be conceited, but fear; for if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you, either. Behold then the kindness and severity of God; to those who fell, severity, but to you, God’s kindness, if you continue in His kindness; otherwise you also will be cut off. And they also, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.
For if you were cut off from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these who are the natural branches be grafted into their own olive tree?
For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery—so that you will not be wise in your own estimation—that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in; and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written,
“The Deliverer will come from Zion, He will remove ungodliness from Jacob.”
“This is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins.”
From the standpoint of the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but from the standpoint of God’s choice they are beloved for the sake of the fathers; for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
For just as you once were disobedient to God, but now have been shown mercy because of their disobedience, so these also now have been disobedient, that because of the mercy shown to you they also may now be shown mercy.”
