“From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” Revelation 19:15-16, NASU
If you listen to many people and even some popular “Christian teachers”, you will hear that the Lord is the “all-accepting one”, the “one who loves all with no concern about their actions.” They will tell you that “He is the one who will let each do as they please, for after all, He is an all-loving God. He is the God of Love.”
Wrong. Half-truths make a lie and are as deceptive as the first one told in the Garden.
Our God is the God of Love. That is truth. But He also is the same God of the Old Testament Who is the same God in the New. Yeshua (Jesus) always has been a warrior. And He always will be.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8-9, NASU
The Lord God of Israel, the God of All, makes war against His enemies. He fights for the poor, the weak, the beaten down, those unjustly treated and condemned. He is the God of War.
And what He did in the Old Testament He also did in the New, and still does in the earth today. He is out to take down His enemies, the ones who battle against His Chosen People the Jews, the ones who seek to kill, destroy, and annihilate the believers in all the nations.
Whether the enemies of the Eternal God come as highly exalted rulers, politicians in elevated seats of authority, educational professors spewing their lies into the minds of our children, or ones in religious garb saying they speak the “love of the Lord”, the Lord Almighty will not allow His eternal truth and ultimate righteousness to be trampled down by the ungodly. He takes out His enemies. He establishes His Kingdom. He brings His reign on this earth, as it is in heaven.
He will also hold all accountable for their actions, their words, their attempts to remove Him and His called ones from taking their rightful places.
The Lord Jesus, Yeshua, is the Warrior.
“And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself.
He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses.
From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, ” KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” Revelation 19:11-16, NASU
When the Jewish prophet Isaiah wrote the following, He was speaking about the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
“The Lord shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war. He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud; He shall prevail against His enemies.” Isaiah 42:13, NKJV
In the Complete Jewish Bible, in the full passage, it reads:
“Adonai will go out like a soldier, like a soldier roused to the fury of battle; he will shout, yes, he raises the battle cry; as he triumphs over his foes. “For a long time I have held my peace, I have been silent, restrained myself. Now I will shriek like a woman in labor, panting and gasping for air.
I will devastate mountains and hills, wither all their vegetation, turn the rivers into islands and dry up the lakes. The blind I will lead on a road they don’t know, on roads they don’t know I will lead them; I will turn darkness to light before them, and straighten their twisted paths.
These are things I will do without fail. Those who trust in idols, who say to statues, ‘You are our gods,’ will be repulsed in utter shame. Listen, you deaf! Look, you blind! —so that you will see! Who is as blind as my servant, or as deaf as the messenger I send? Who is as blind as the one I rewarded, as blind as the servant of Adonai?” Isaiah 42:13-19, Complete Jewish Bible
When one teaches the Scripture to meet what they want to preach as their theology, and purposely neglect to teach the full Gospel, they will in time have to give an account for leading the people astray. As they seek to deny their accountability before the One Who is seated on the throne, they will be held accountable for not bringing the warning, the truth, the complete Gospel about how each will give an account for their actions done in this life.
We are living in a time of war. It is the time for the men and women, who call upon the Name of the Lord, to stand up and fight the war that the Lord Jesus Himself is waging. He is bringing judgement to the nations, to those who have revolted against Him. He is taking the battle to the front lines in order to bring the victory that is rightly His.
We have been saved not to sit back and wait for some departure out of here. We have been given battle armor, to put on, use, and take our place in this war that He is directing.
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.” Ephesians 6:10-13, NASU
As He is, so we are called to be.
“Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:14-17, NASU
Now is not the time to sit by, relax, and self-indulge in entertaining ourselves with the things of the world. Now is the time to fight the good faith and take our place in the war for the nations.
These who went before us, given as examples in the Bible for us as they were empowered by the Spirit of God and performed the works of their God the Father, while standing with the Chief Warrior, the Son of God, in His battles.
“And what more shall I say? For time will fail me if I tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets, who by faith conquered kingdoms, performed acts of righteousness, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions, quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, from weakness were made strong, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight.” Hebrews 11:32-35, NASU
They were mighty in war. Literally. So must we be, as we take up our weapons and walk with the Living God, as David did.
“For at that time they came to David day by day to help him, until it was a great army, like the army of God.” 1 Chronicles 12:22, NKJV
The Warrior is rising and is on the move. Stand alert and do your part.
“For the Lord will rise up as at Mount Perazim, He will be stirred up as in the valley of Gibeon, to do His task, His unusual task, and to work His work, His extraordinary work.” Isiah 28:21, NASU
