“He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of the One sitting on the throne.” Revelation 5:7, Complete Jewish Bible
On a cool early Saturday morning in March 2020, I sat in my prayer chair to spend the beginning of the day with the Lord Jesus. It is a common practice that I have been doing for years. Growing up in Cedar Falls, Iowa in our home at 1116 Main Street, I would see my Mom do this regularly, as she read daily from her Bible and had her prayer time. With 8 kids, she knew she needed it!
And with me having that example to follow now, and most importantly because of the desire to be with Him, hear His Holy Spirit, and be renewed daily, it remains a most vital time in my walk with Him. I trust you do too.
Above all, as we abide in His love, faith, and encouragement, and take time to be with Him to seek His face, He gives us the hope and encouragement to face these days we walk in, these end-times.
Yes, these are the end-times. Since the nation of Israel was reborn on May 14, 1948, as prophesied from the Hebrew prophet Isaiah, we have been living in this time as the clock ticks down to His soon return in our lifetime. Therefore, we must be prepared and ready for that which He has called us to be and do.
“Who has ever heard of such things? Who has ever seen things like this? Can a country be born in a day, or a nation be brought forth in a moment? Yet no sooner is Zion in labor than she gives birth to her children. Do I bring to the moment of birth and not give delivery?” says the LORD. “Do I close up the womb when I bring to delivery?” says your God. “Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice greatly with her, all you who mourn over her.” (Isaiah 66:8-10)
As I sat in quietness and mostly alert (sometimes it takes a while!), I then listened to the song, “Worthy of It All”, being sung by Chaim Malespin on his recent message from the Aliyah Return Center near Tiberias, Israel, in the Galilee. Remembering another version on my phone playlist, after listening also to that, I ended up downloading a different version by Kent Henry (early Hosanna! Music days from Integrity Music), sung along with his son Matt.
The Lord reminded me that He, Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus Christ our Lord, is seated on the throne, looking down upon the earth. He is not anxious. He is not worried. He is not fearful.
He is in full control. The Creator of the Universe is in full control. Jesus is high and lifted up, and from that viewpoint, He sees all, knows all, and reminds us that He is the One we need to continually look to.
If you were to spend several hours watching the national news, as many do, you would think the world is totally in chaos and falling apart. Well, as the shaking is being done, as the Lord gave us notice in Matthew 24 centuries ago, it mostly is, seen or unseen. And yet, Jesus is in full control all the same.
When you sit above something, you see differently. When you are the one seated on the throne in the heavens, above all, you see things quite differently.
It is with our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Being He is the One seated on the right hand of God the Father, He sees differently. Therefore, He can give us the best perspective of what is going on, and what the end will be.
Because of His position, and because He says we too are “seated with Him in heavenly places”, our hope can remain strong in Him.
“…even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ ( by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:5-7, NASU
Know that Jesus is the One ruling and reigning, seated high above all on His heavenly throne. Know that we also are seated with Him, above all too, and therefore our confidence and trust need not waver, because of Him.
He sees what is going on, and knows the beginning to the end, we too can have the mind of Christ, and be assured of our position and protection found only in Him.
“These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 2:13-16, NKJV
Carry on…in faith and full trust.
Now think on this.
