Financial Crisis in Israel As Covid-19 Spreads ✡ “Provide me with my daily bread” Israel365

March 20, 2020 COVID-19 Won’t Stop Meir Panim From Distributing Food To Those In Need

Keep lies and false words far from me; Give me neither poverty nor riches, But provide me with my daily bread Proverbs 30:8 (The Israel Bible™)

In light of the growing epidemic, it’s interesting to note the change in perspective we are all having. We often think how grateful we would be to have wealth or abundance. This verse points out that often, riches do not lead people to gratitude, but rather to smugness and self-satisfaction. If we have too much of a good thing, we may come to believe we have earned it, and forget Hashem’s hand in our lives.

In fact, the Bible warns that forgetting the Lord and attributing one’s wealth to his own power and might is one of the dangers of the blessing of bounty in the Land of Israel (Deuteronomy 8:7-18). We see today how frail wealth truly is as markets crash globally because of a virus that only God could foresee.

In these times we must come together to help the less fortunate who are hit the hardest by this crisis and understand that we are all in this together. As of now, we are approaching Passover and our annual campaign to provide food to the poor for the holiday. But the situation is dire.

What little resources they had are drying up and children are quite literally starving. We need you help now more than ever! Please open your hearts and remember, it all comes from above. Stay healthy!
