“All Will Know” – Now Think On This by Steve Martin

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:14, NKJV

Pastor John Ebenezer of Muerchela, India

Pastor John Ebenezer and I met over 14 years ago, and since then have become trusted friends serving the Lord on different continents. He in India and I in North America. Both seeking to know and do the Lord’s will, as we understand it.

John first asked me to come to his homeland in February 2010 to teach his pastoral team at his annual conference. Edgar Persad, also of Charlotte, North Carolina, was able to help me. Thanks to the provision of John’s contributors and Vision For Israel, where I was the USA director at the time in the USA, we were able to go and minister. Once and one, or so I thought.

Over the years, John repeatedly asked me to come again, but funds were no available. Until this year, and thus I am on my way.

Pastor John’s church congregation, and the place where the pastors gather, is south of the large city of Hyderabad in south India. The actual village is rather small. In the 1940s, when John’s father was ministering to the local Hindus about the truth of Jesus Christ, a wealthy Japanese businessman gave funds for the construction of a block church building, another building with room enough for 5-6 classrooms, and a block wall about 4 feet tall surrounding the perimeter. Some would think to mark the couple of acres.

The real purpose I think was to keep out the wandering cows and other unwanted animals. And yet, due to a break in the wall, they still manage to get into the partially grassy area, primarily because of the well and the water which occasionally comes forth.

It is not the place you particularly would want to go to. The 70 pastors who come, along with their wives, sleep in the classroom building. It would be great if they had doors and windows, but the incomplete construction job never quite got to that point. Or the funds ran out. Probably both.

The church building seats about 150, if half sit on the floor, which normally do. The other side of the floor is outfitted with plastic chairs, the ones you typically get at Walmart for $5 each. White of course.

Though they have humble means, they worship with all their hearts as the drums are played by 2 or 3, while singing in their native language Telegu. While the non-believers worship at the hundreds of Hindu statues built along the highways and countryside, to β€œmillions of gods” as John says, these Christians worship the living God. And on this trip I have been given the mandate to teach them about the Living God of Israel (the same One), His heart for the Jewish people, and why as Christians we have a debt to pay to the Jews.

Yeshua (Jesus), the Prophets, the Commandments, the disciples, the 12 apostles – all were Jews, sent by God to deliver His Word of restoration and salvation to the entire world. As they obeyed and wrote down His spoken words in the Torah, Tanakh, the Prophets, Old and New Testaments – it has been through the faithful Jews that the Messiah has come, Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus Christ, and He will be returning to the Promised Land soon, with Jerusalem as His earthly capital.

So I go to speak His word, share His love, practice the gifts of the Holy Spirit given, pray for healing and miracles, and also teach them some Hebrew songs on the new guitar I am bringing, and will then leave with them.

Please keep me in your prayers. It is by His strength and grace that anything can be done, but it is He Who gives each of us the gifts and provision to do as such.

You can be sure I will be sending photos, videos, and messages as much as I can, once I am back in the lodging each night with WiFi. Check our Love For His People website (www.loveforhispeople.com) and our Facebook pages daily.

Bless the Living God of Israel! The world, even to its far-reaching corners, will hear and believe His Word, see His miracles, and turn to Him.
