When you enter the land and plant any tree for food, you shall regard its fruit as forbidden. Three years it shall be forbidden for you, not to be eaten Leviticus 19:23 (The Israel Bible™) Hear the verse in Hebrew v’-khee ta-VO-u el ha-A-retz u-n’-ta-TEM kol AYTZ ma-a-KHAL va-a-ral-TEM or-la-TO et pir-YO sha-LOSH sha-NEEM yih-YEH la-KHEM a-ray-LEEM LO yay-a-KHAYL Israel is preparing to celebrate Tu B’Shvat– the New Year for the trees on February 10! While this is a lesser known Jewish holiday, its roots are in the Bible! The verse above instructs the Children of Israel regarding planting trees in the Land of Israel and the laws of agriculture. Tu B’Shvat is a holiday rich with traditions and customs including eating from the seven species of Israel, as well as planting trees to fortify and strengthen God’s land. This year, Israel experienced tremendous rainfall. This abundant rain has been a great blessing for the land, and will help boost the growth of trees. Join us as we celebrate Tu B’Shvat by giving back to God’s land and planting our roots deep into the soil of the Land of Israel.[VIDEO] ![]() Rabbi Tuly Weisz Explains The Biblical Significance of Tu B’Shvat WATCH Celebrate The New Year For The Trees By Planting In Israel PLANT IN GOD’S LAND Subscribe To The Israel365 YouTube Channel To Watch All Of Our Tree Planting Events SUBSCRIBE |
