“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.” 1 John 3:1-3, NKJV
When the Lord wakes you up sooner than normal, you wonder for what reason. For those who have grown accustomed to such occurrences, you have become sensitive to His Holy Spirit. You know it is because He has something to share with you. And then maybe others. Maybe then. Maybe later.
At times it may take me 15 or 20 minutes to wake up. So, I putter around, make a hot cup of something (or get a cold drink, depending upon the temperature outside), and then check a few things on my iPhone. A message from a friend in Israel. A Facebook post about the increasing darkness filling the earth, while at the same time our Lord’s light is shining brighter than ever before (though quite often the article doesn’t quite present it that way.) Or I even check the new Love For His People app on my phone! Just like you do!
Finally, I get settled into my prayer chair. And pray. Typically, in tongues.
But this time, after a short time, I could feel a burden come on me. I could feel His sensation in my heart, and tears began forming under my closed eyes.
“God weeps.” That is all He said. “God weeps.”
I knew what He meant. He weeps for the nations. For individuals. For those whom He has spoken to previously along their path, and they have turned from it, to seek their own way. And now you don’t hear from them again.
Yes, our God, our Creator, weeps. And He wants us to know it. And weep with Him.
It says right there in John 11:35, the shortest verse in all of Scripture, “Jesus wept.’ NASU
Why? Because His friend, Lazarus, had died. Was buried. And Jesus hadn’t been there, by divine plan, when he did leave this earth. So, when Jesus did arrive, after a few days, and Lazarus had already been buried in the tomb, He wept.
We don’t read too much about God’s emotions, other than the usual “anger and wrath” verses which are absolutely true and yet some choose to focus only on those as if that is the only emotion our Lord has. But even as Yeshua (Jesus) displayed emotions often while He walked the land of Israel, His Father, our God, is the same. Yeshua showed us Himself that God is the same.
“Yeshua answered them, “I have already told you, and you don’t trust me. The works I do in my Father’s name testify on my behalf, but the reason you don’t trust is that you are not included among my sheep. My sheep listen to my voice, I recognize them, they follow me, and I give them eternal life. They will absolutely never be destroyed, and no one will snatch them from my hands. My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all; and no one can snatch them from the Father’s hands. I and the Father are one.” John 10:25-30, Complete Jewish Bible
It is true. Our God weeps. He weeps for a lost life. He weeps over wars. He weeps when new unborns are murdered and treated as a piece of simple meat, or parts to be sold. He weeps when His creation destroys themselves and then blames Him for our own sins.
Above all, God weeps when He has already given His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, as the substitute death for ours, and the nations not only disregard His Salvation’s free gift but use His Holy Name as a curse word.
But His weeping is only momentary. For the time will come, and is coming speedily, when we will see His glorious return on His mighty white horse, and the world will be the ones weeping then, and turn from their wicked ways, and acknowledge that Jesus is the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
“I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn.
“In that day there will be great mourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the plain of Megiddo. “The land will mourn, every family by itself; the family of the house of David by itself and their wives by themselves; the family of the house of Nathan by itself and their wives by themselves; the family of the house of Levi by itself and their wives by themselves; the family of the Shimeites by itself and their wives by themselves; all the families that remain, every family by itself and their wives by themselves.
“In that day a fountain will be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for impurity. “It will come about in that day,” declares the Lord of hosts, “that I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, and they will no longer be remembered; and I will also remove the prophets and the unclean spirit from the land. “And if anyone still prophesies, then his father and mother who gave birth to him will say to him, ‘You shall not live, for you have spoken falsely in the name of the Lord’; and his father and mother who gave birth to him will pierce him through when he prophesies.
“Also it will come about in that day that the prophets will each be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies, and they will not put on a hairy robe in order to deceive; but he will say, ‘I am not a prophet; I am a tiller of the ground, for a man sold me as a slave in my youth.’ “And one will say to him, ‘What are these wounds between your arms?’ Then he will say, ‘Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.’
“Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd, and against the man, My Associate, “Declares the Lord of hosts.” Strike the Shepherd that the sheep may be scattered; and I will turn My hand against the little ones.
“It will come about in all the land”, declares the Lord, “that two parts in it will be cut off and perish; but the third will be left in it. “And I will bring the third part through the fire, refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested.”
“They will call on My name, and I will answer them; I will say, ‘They are My people,’ and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.'” Zechariah 12:10-13:9, NASU
The time is coming when the weeping will stop, when the eternal plans and purposes of God will be accomplished, and Yeshua will set up His throne on Mount Zion in Jerusalem.
Be watching. Get ready. Don’t sit around doing nothing. Our Savior and Lord is coming back. The time is fast approaching for that glorious hour! We must be about His business.
“We must work the works of Him who sent Me as long as it is day; night is coming when no one can work. “While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.” John 9:4,5 NASB
He is STILL in the world, as His Holy Spirit is working. So must we be about His business.
Now think on this.
