Everyone has by now sent out their New Year’s Facebook greetings, their Twitter tweets, their texts, and Messenger GIF images, wishing all a Happy New Year. Very nice. I received more than enough!
Some will make their annual new year resolutions. Those will last a few weeks, days, or maybe a few hours. OK.
But how many will give themselves to the One Who created us, wants to show His love to us, and who is the only real one who can direct our steps to provide provision, protection, and real-life in a world that tries to substitute everything else for life, except by actually coming to the One Who gives it.
Even Christians and Jews, who heard of the Living God when growing up, either in church or the shul, synagogue, may not have actually said, “I need You, Lord. Not religion. Not the dos and donts.
The what, and the who that I really need is You, Lord Jesus, Yeshua, the Messiah.”
If you look back in your life over the last 10 years, did you do that which you wanted to do since 2010? If so, good for you and give thanks.
If not, where and what did the 10 years of doing your own thing get you?
Start the year off right. Start the new decade off right.
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” Jesus. (Matthew 11:28, NASB)
