This week, we continue with the Bible portion of Vayishlach. After escaping Esau, Jacob entered Canaan and purchased the land he chose to settle. This is a message for all of eternity. To ensure survival, the Children of Israel must build their safe haven in the Land of Israel. Once in the land, Jacob built an altar to thank God.
After spending years in exile, he appreciated that service of God is most fitting in the Land of Israel, and immediately made every possible effort to worship the one true God there.
