May you understand the times and know what to do! – Richard and Carolyn Hyde from Heart of G-d Ministries

A 501-C3 ministry in Israel The sons of Issachar were those who understood the times and knew what Israel should do. 1 Chronicles 12:32

Dear Friends and Prayer Partners,

One of the highlights from our recent journey and something that has happened several times since returning home to Israel, was a moment in time when the presence of the Holy Spirit was so tangible in the church or in our home with tour groups of believers. This always happened while speaking about Aliyah.

The time seemed ripe so I’d say something like this, “One day you may need to help Jewish people who are fleeing from the West. Would you be willing to put your own family at risk to hide Jews and help us come home to Israel?”

You could hear a pin drop in the room after sharing this word over groups; the silence was deafening.

We don’t know when this would happen, but we pray for ourselves and for all of you who are reading this to have a spirit of Issachar, those who understand the times, and know what to do. The Hebrew actually says and “know what Israel should do” but when you’re grafted into the Commonwealth of Israel through faith in Messiah Yeshua, that includes you!

Knowing what to do comes only from discerning the voice of the L-rd, and this has become one of our greatest passions in life. In Israel today many believers are seeing the same need during times of worship and prayer to suddenly stop the singing and talking and just be silent, quietly listening as we collectively sense the presence of the Spirit of G-d. Often He gives Scriptures that relate so beautifully to visions or words of knowledge that others are receiving at the same time, thus bringing a powerful confirmation of what’s on His heart.

In other words, the Good Shepherd still speaks to His sheep today! But of course, since we’re only human, it’s essential to follow 1 John 4:1-2 – “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from G-d, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Yeshua the Messiah has come in the flesh is from G-d.”

So we wait and watch in prayer and especially in every difficult situation, such as the inability of our political leaders to form a viable government.

Instead of asking what can we do, how can we fix things, etc, we ask what does the L-rd have to say about this and what does He want us to do?‌‌‌

Fruitful Conversations

During a recent street outreach, as we wore our T-shirts that proclaim “G-d Loves You”, many women my age approached me asking, who are you or what is this about?

Praise G-d for so many opportunities to speak of the Hope within and several who prayed to receive Yeshua. The hunger to know and the openness of heart were beyond beautiful to behold – we are certainly in the midst of the harvest!

During one conversation a young Israeli said, “I think when we die, we just go to sleep and that’s it.”

So I replied, “Actually we have two options of where we go after we pass away – heaven or hell and that’s it.”

“So there’s nothing is in between, like purgatory?”

“What, do I look like a nun to you?”

“But I have to see a sign to believe this,” he said.

So I asked, “May I pray that G-d gives you one?”

“Yes, you can do that”, he said.

So we laid hands on this young Israeli and prayed for him. Then he gave a hug and gratefully took a New Testament in Hebrew and my music.

Several friends have passed away in the past few weeks and on the same day another friend passed, Richard was rushed to the hospital with heart pains. Since he’s already had three heart attacks, we don’t take this lightly. So thank you for praying for health and healing for my dear husband.

Are you an experienced landscape gardener who’d like to volunteer in the Galilee? You don’t need to design a garden like Butchart Gardens in British Columbia, but we need help. We’re offering free room and board if you can come for a month or two to transform our garden!

We write L-rd or G-d (a Jewish custom Carolyn grew up with) or יהוה or YHVH but it’s all about showing reverence for the Holy One of Israel. Thank you for understanding.
