“From the Gadites there came over to David in the stronghold in the wilderness, mighty men of valor, men trained for war, who could handle shield and spear, and whose faces were like the faces of lions, and they were as swift as the gazelles on the mountains.” 1 Chronicles 12:8-9, NASU
Our Lord is once again raising up mighty men of valor.
I am beginning to see that, as the Lord Himself slowly reveals His plan and purposes, giving us a bit here, a glimpse there, encouraging and desiring us to keep seeking Him and His call on each of our lives.
When the Lord Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, spoke to me in October 2018 when in Jerusalem that I would be going to Israel twice a year from that point on, I never realized the full scope of what His intentions were. Nor did I realize just how much it would be going to impact the lives of men, specifically.
For far too long the men of the United States, and I can only imagine that the same has been occurring in many of the other nations of the world, have negated their duties as men, succumbing to the lies of the devil that we are just stupid, ignorant cavemen, needing the other gender to take the lead in everything as we sit back, drink cold beer, and watch football games or play video games for endless hours on the comfy seat of our favorite potato chip couch.
Often, the TV commercials have portrayed us as the bumbling idiots who can’t take the lead, make a decisive decision, or raise our kids with courage and strength that men were once the ones who did it. Leading and guiding in the forefront. Upfront. Instead, we have been portrayed in most television shows and movies as weak, with feminine characteristics, choosing instead to build man caves to hide away as the rest of the world wonders what happened to the men.
But God, the One who created men to be men and women to be women, is showing Himself strong (which He has never backed away from in the first place, though many think He has.) He is shouting from the heavens. He is once again raising up men to be mighty men of valor. No longer will we sit back and watch the world go by. We will rise again.
With this first Ahava Adventure that Love For His People ministry has now initiated for “men only”, with the group of four men traveling to Israel in September/October of 2019, I am seeing more and more of the wider picture, as the Lord is opening my eyes and others of like-minded spirit.
Needing to interact as men were created to do – to be adventurous, to “conquer the world”, to take action and not sit around asking, “What next?” with blind understanding – I see the Lord using these trips to bind us together. (Of course, there was “iron sharpening iron” along the way, but what else would one expect?)
Greg Partipilo, David Lauka, Lathan Wood and I had had little interaction as a group before, as in “none”, prior to our going. In fact, with us members of separate churches, though located less than a mile apart on the same former property of Heritage USA in Fort Mill, South Carolina, history and culture had brought it that way. One church is primarily white. The other primarily black. One consisting of a large percentage of men and women over 55 years of age. The other of the next generation, for the most part, less than 35 years in age.
And yet the Lord is committed to bringing us and His Body together, for His greater plan is far more inclusive than the small vision we have each carried. His vast infinite wisdom overwhelms our finite. And thus, He is preparing us for the future thrust in the world that He has promised over the ages to accomplish. And it will take His men to do it.
There have been generations of men that did not seek the Lord and follow after His ways. Let it not be said of my generation that we were one of them.
“For the sons of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, until all the nation, that is, the men of war who came out of Egypt, perished because they did not listen to the voice of the Lord, to whom the Lord had sworn that He would not let them see the land which the Lord had sworn to their fathers to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.” Joshua 5:6-7, NASU
I am grateful for the word the Lord gave Bethany Hall to speak forth on October 13, 2019, on a Sunday morning at Antioch International Church in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Though my good wife Laurie and I were in the North Carolina mountains celebrating our 42nd wedding anniversary, I give thanks to Mordecai (Maynard) Porter who recorded the message from his back row in the congregational gathering.
Bethany proclaimed the word of the Lord, that He was raising up, bringing together mighty men of valor. So encouraging and confirming to me, and I trust among the other men who heard the word. You can hear that word she spoke here. https://loveforhispeople.com/2019/10/15/men-of-valor-are-going-to-be-rising-up-in-america-prophetic-word-by-bethany-hall-antioch-international-church-in-fort-mill-sc/
Mighty men of valor are once again being raised up. It is a great work that needs to be done, and we have been called, equipped, and prepared to be the ones to do as much.
The battle rages on for the souls of men and women, young and old, and it is time that men take their rightful place and do their part in our Lord’s great plan to save the world.
Now think on this and see what good things the Lord has in store for you and those around you.
