Hashem’s Dwelling Place ✡ “He Who Dwells In Yerushalayim” – Israel365

Blessed is Hashem from Tzion, He who dwells in Yerushalayim. Hallelujah.

Today’s Israel Inspiration

Why did Hashem choose Jerusalem as His resting place? The Sages provided two Biblical passages which together teach us the significance of Jerusalem. In Genesis, Abraham was tested by God and asked to sacrifice his son. This test took place on a mountain which Abraham called “Adonai yir’eh” meaning ‘on the mount where Hashem is seen’ (Genesis 22:14). Years earlier, Abraham proved his allegiance to justice when he fought against the Four Kings and saved his nephew Lot. After that battle, Melchizedek, the King of Shalem, went out to greet Abraham and bless Hashem (Genesis 14:18-20). The names Yir’eh and Shalem, when combined, form Yerushalayim. The name of the holy city expresses the harmonization of man’s selfless actions towards Hashem and his peers. Keep the spiritual meaning of the holy city close to you at all times with beautiful jewelry inspired by Jerusalem.
