The name of the Holy City of Jerusalem in Hebrew is Yerushalayim, ירושלים. This very special name has two important words inside it. Yirah meas fear, and it is a combination of awe and fear that everyone is supposed to have for the Almighty God. Anyone who has ever been to this holiest of cities can surely feel this tremendous level of connection to God. The second word is Shalom, peace. The prayer of all who serve God is that He will bless the entire world with peace. The best place to make a close connection to God and to pray for peace is in His Holy City, Jerusalem.
There are countless miracles to celebrate upon the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem. Perhaps surprising to many Israelis are the largely untold stories of heroic Christian support for Jewish Jerusalem over the past half-century.
Today the entire country rejoices over the 50th jubilee anniversary of Jerusalem’s reunification following the miracles of 1967! Check out this fun compilation of videos and articles to celebrate this amazing day in Jerusalem’s history!
In June 1967, Israel’s soldiers overcame Arab troops and reached the Western Wall — the ancient remnant of the Jewish temple. At that moment, the Old City of Jerusalem, lost to the Jewish people for 2,000 years, was finally in Israel’s hands.
Only a few short days before the 50th anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem, President Donald Trump along with his wife Melania and daughter Ivanka made history as they visited the Western Wall in the Old City. As the last remnant of the ancient Holy Temple, the Western Wall has held a prominent spot in Jewish consciousness for centuries. Since the establishment of the modern State of Israel in 1948 and more importantly, since the reunification of Jerusalem in 1967, Jews from around the world have made the journey to be able to touch the stones of the Western Wall and pray at this holy site. In a great show of solidarity with Israel and the Jewish people, Trump is the first sitting US President to have visited the Western Wall in the Old City of Jerusalem.
On this miraculous day in 1967, Yitzchok Rabin (right), Moshe Dayan (center) and Uzi Narkiss (left) entered the Old City of Jerusalem through the Lion Gate thus reclaiming the ancient city under Jewish rule for the first time in 2,000 years!

Shalom U Bracha, Thank you for your mail. Just to let you know our church and ourselves have donated money transfer to three different places: Haifa, for children and Holocaust Survivers and Jerusalem with a purim basket. Not only for Purim, but we support these places regulary, even for many years, for we know whosoever blesses a jew will be blessed from Hashem. We have special friends in Israel, and we have been there around 25 times with group and also just by ourselves. We have a special feeling for our jewish friends! And if God willing and we still are alive, we have the intention to go this year again! Baruch Hashem, Gerd and Lydia Rodewald
