On Shavuot we read about Ruth’s extraordinary kindness to her mother-in-law, Naomi. As the story unfolds, Naomi is bereft of her husband and sons in Moab. Ruth, a Moabite princess, clings to Naomi to accompany her to Israel, and collects food in the fields of Israel to take care of an aging Naomi. Today’s verse illustrates that God rewards those who do kindness with kindness. The holiday of Shavuot is a time for following Ruth’s example by doing extra acts of kindness. Show your kindness by partnering with Colel Chabad and supporting needy families throughout the Land of Israel.

Dear Rabbi, I’m a 68 year old Retired Medical Laboratory Technologist… I have always wanted to learn more about Israel, her people and beliefs. I was told one of my great grand parents were Jewish. The last four years have made me realize that I needed to know more about God, the Bible and the Old Testaments. Thank you for the wonderful studies. I look forward to each and every one. God Bless- Nan
Thanks, I am really enjoying all the messages from you all the way here in South Africa
